New Old Dresser

This dresser was a fun, quick transformation. The boys' clothes are getting too big to fit into the little drawer systems I have in their closets, so I decided to get a dresser for them. I was very picky in my expectations. I wanted four drawers that all were exactly the same size. I also prefer antiques. I never thought I would find one, especially in our price range. I had to decide if I was going to wait around until I found one that fit my description or if I try to find something new that would make do.
My parents happened to be in an antique shop, and noticed the dresser. It was $100. In our budget, that's a good chunk. Ryan and I went by to check it out before we committed. It was exactly what I wanted, so I had to grab it up! Before I purchased it, I asked the owner if she could do any better. It's always worth a shot. The worst they can say is no. She came down to $90.

A little while back, I picked up some sports knobs at Kids Market. That was another reason I needed four drawers. I added the knobs, and it is the perfect touch to their bedroom!
What have you found that fit exactly what you needed?

  1. Super cute dresser and I love the sports knobs! I want to learn how to do stuff like this. Have you seen the show on HGTV, Flea Market Flip with Lara Spencer? It's right up your alley.

    1. This was an easy one, because the dresser came already stained. All I had to do was change out the knobs. I have seen the show, but since we don't have cable, I only get to see it when we're over at my parents' house :( It is a fun one! You'll have to start checking the places out around you and see what you can find. Be careful, though, it's addicting!
