Fall Is Here!

I love when the weather starts changing from the hot southern summer days to the bearable temperatures of autumn.  It's so nice to be able to play with the boys outside and not have to worry about them complaining of the heat.  It's also nice to pull out the fall decorations!  I already shared with you the touches to the front entrance of our house.
This is what I added to the inside.  As usual, I slowly build up our collection as I find things at yard sales, thrift stores, and on sale after the holiday season.

This is in our entrance.  The welcome sign came from an after holiday sale (I think from Kohl's.), and I added the raffia ribbon on the top to cover up the command hook.  If you remember from my hand print wall art, I don't like adding unnecessary holes to our walls!  The scarecrow and hay bale came from a donation someone made to my classroom a few years back. Once I start teaching again, it will probably go back to my classroom.
I picked up these vines with the fall colored "tomatoes" as Brady calls them at a yard sale.  I also have them decorating my new TV stand.
These little scarecrows decorate my bar in the kitchen area. I don't know how I've come about the scarecrow theme, but the decorations just sort of evolve!
I picked up these cute sets for the boys at the dollar bins of Target. Because of some coupons I used on other products, the overages ended up making these free!
I added a few touches in the dining room area.  The pumpkin was picked up at an after season sale, and the votive holder was a gift from a student.
These pumpkins were also from a sale.  They are on the dining room table.

I will continue adding to the decor, but my rule is that I can't start decorating more than a month before a holiday.  Otherwise, it might get a little out of control!  I am gathering cute ideas for Halloween on pinterest and will keep you posted as those go up.

Jackson and I will be going on a field trip to a local pumpkin patch Friday with his Kindergarten class, and then the whole family will be going during school's Fall Break with coupons we got from Groupon.  I love picking out all of the pumpkins and gourds to use for decorations!  The farm's atmosphere is just so fun as well.  Happy Fall!

  6. I also have pinecones in my livingroom. Best part - they are FREE! I still have mine left over from last year's decor.
