Easter's On It's Way!

We are on Spring Break this week, which is unbelievable, since it was snowing here yesterday (yes, in Alabama!). Luckily, the day before had wonderful weather, so we were able to work on our gardens. While stuck inside, I've been doing a little decorating for Easter.

Hang on to Those Plastic Eggs!

Last year, while perusing Pinterest, I found a wreath made of plastic Easter eggs.  I didn't think much of it until I ran into a bag of free Publix eggs at a yard sale.  What an awesome opportunity to make a cute Easter wreath!

Easter Craft

With everyone home for spring break, I haven't been able to get as much accomplished as I had hoped.  I did manage to create an easy Easter decoration for our mantel.
 It was very simple and didn't take much time at all.

To make:
  1. Find the eggs that have little holes in the tops.
  2. Cut skinny ribbon to length.  I used white, because it was what I had at home, and it blends in with the cotton.
  3. Feed the ribbon through the hole.
  4. Tie a knot.
  5. Tie it to the branch.
The nice thing about this is you can use just about any type of pretty branch to attach the eggs.  If you have something in bloom in your yard, cut a few branches off and use all the plastic eggs that seem to multiply each year.
Cost = $0!

Now my cute little bunny rabbits have a decoration friend!  If you want to see what else I have done around the house for Easter, visit {here}.

Preparing for Easter

I love decorating for holidays! I don't love having to pay for it :) The biggest thing I have learned about decorating is waiting until AFTER the holiday to shop. It is amazing how much cheaper it is to get what you want. I try not to even look at the decorations before the holiday, because I will be tempted to buy them at full price. The best part about buying after the holiday is opening your box of decorations to put them out the next year and having new treasures to display.

Here is what I have found in the past for Easter:
