Any mom of an elementary school-aged child knows how much stuff comes home in their child's backpack. If you're like me, it's very hard to part with even the simplest of items. But I also don't like the paper clutter! It's a very crazy internal battle.
Jackson went to an art camp this summer after just receiving his art portfolio at the end of the school year, so I really had a lot of his work sitting around with no place to go. I do have a system to save the boys' work that I adapted from Iheart Organizing, but I also want to display some of it. I had seen some cute ideas, but they were too much work. For me, time is a major factor in everything, because I don't have it!
My pictures turned out blurry, so I'm pretending that's the effect I want! If you look closely, you can also see the artwork Brady added straight to the wall. |
I was cleaning out my school supplies one day and came across my stash of clip boards. Then I had my aha! moment. How easy it would be to hang these on the wall, clip their work in it, and change it out as I want.
This is in the boys' "wing" of the house. I used the same Command strips on the top two corners that I used to hang up the metal oil pan in their playroom. Jackson's artwork quickly filled the clip boards. I have also added some of Brady's work from pre-K, and he loves it! They like seeing what I put up on the wall.
Since I added this to our house, I have seen a similar display pictured in a magazine and decided they stole my idea!
Awesome idea! Thank you for sharing at our TGIF Link Party at A Peek Into My Paradise. I hope you will be back to link up another awesome post this week!
